Why this page exists

Publishing about business funding without saying how you work is asking for trust you have not earned. This is how we work.

Bylines

Nothing is published anonymously. A name on a page means somebody can be asked about it later, and that is the only accountability a small site has.

Marcus Delaney, Former underwriter and lending writer. Marcus spent over a decade underwriting small business loans for a regional bank before he started writing about the process from the other side of the desk. He explains what a lender is actually looking at, not what a broker says they want to hear.

Renee Ashworth, Small business owner and funding writer. Renee has run a small retail business for nine years and has borrowed through a term loan, two lines of credit, and one merchant cash advance she still brings up as a cautionary tale. She writes about funding from the side that actually signs the paperwork.

Callum Whitfield, Bookkeeper and cash flow writer. Callum keeps the books for a handful of small businesses and sees their cash flow problems months before the owners do. He writes about forecasting and funding math the way he explains it to a client staring at a spreadsheet.

Where topics come from

We keep a running list of questions readers send us, plus questions we had ourselves and could not find a straight answer to. A topic gets written when it appears on that list more than once.

Where money enters

A minority of outbound links are commercial. None of them have ever changed a sentence that was written before the link existed.

Requests to soften a verdict are declined, and we keep them on file. More than one has become the subject of its own paragraph later.

Dates

The date on an article is the date it was published. When a change alters the advice, we update the modified date and say what changed. Cosmetic edits do not reset the date, because pretending a page is fresher than it is helps nobody.

From notes to published page

1. The writer collects what they already know and marks the parts they cannot support.
2. Those parts are checked against a primary source, an operator document, or direct experience.
3. What survives step two goes into the draft. What does not is cut.
4. A second person reads the draft for claims that sound firmer than the evidence behind them.

What we will not publish

• Guarantees. Nobody in this field can honestly offer one.
• Filler written to occupy a topic rather than to answer it.
• Anything we would be embarrassed to defend in person.

How mistakes are handled

Corrections go to info@allodialresources.com. Include the address and the sentence. Anything factual is fixed without argument. Anything that changes what the article recommends gets a dated note underneath, so the change is visible.
